As already announced on the CVS Brent Twitter feed and in an email update, there is funding available from the Brent Council to host a get-together of Brent residents in conjunction with the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting.
The initiative forms part of the Commonwealth Big Lunch scheme, delivered in partnership with the Eden Project. This April the UK will host the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting and millions of people in 52 countries will get together to share food and celebrate their connections. This is a fantastic opportunity to bring people together and celebrate with your friends and neighbours the diversity that exists in the borough.
Your Big Lunch could be large or small; it could be a garden party, business meeting, high tea, school lunch or something completely different. In any case, your lunch must take place by 22nd April 2018.
If you would like any further clarification or wish to discuss your proposals in more detail, please email the Communities and Partnerships team at VoluntarySector@brent.gov.uk or call 020 8937 1234.
More information, including a simple application form and guidance notes, is available on the council website. The closing date for applications is Sunday 18th March 2018.
