Social Prescribing in Brent Workshop

CVS Brent are organising the first event on social prescribing in Brent on June 18th from 10am to 2pm at The Yellow, 1 Humphry Repton Lane, Wembley HA9 0GL.
Social prescribing, sometimes referred to as community referral, is a means of enabling GP practices and others to signpost people to a range of local, non-clinical activities which are typically provided by voluntary and community sector organisations. Examples include arts activities, gardening, lunch clubs, a range of sports and exercise, volunteering and classes.
The workshop aims to gain a better understanding of social prescribing models and bring all sectors together to discuss opportunities in Brent.
We will provide opportunities to:
- Start a discussion about Social Prescribing in Brent;
- Learn about other Social Prescribing models;
- Discuss opportunities and implications;
-
Agree a way forward for Social Prescribing in Brent.
Chair: Cllr Krupesh Hirani (Lead Member for Public Health, Culture and Leisure)
