The scheme provides funding to employers to create new 6-month job placements for young people who are currently on Universal Credit and at risk of long-term unemployment. This is part of the government’s Plan for Jobs
Funding will cover for each job placement:
- 100% of the relevant National Minimum Wage for 25 hours a week
- the associated employer National Insurance contributions
- Employer minimum automatic enrolment contribution
The government will also pay employers £1,500 to set up support and training for people on a Kickstart placement, as well as helping pay for uniforms and other set up costs.
If you get someone else to do some of the job placement setup and employability support for you, such as your Kickstart gateway, you’ll have to agree how you will share this money.
There will also be extra funding to support young people to build their experience and help them move into sustained employment after they have completed their Kickstart Scheme funded job.
Have you registered with the scheme? You can register with CVS Brent by completing the registration form here
Have a job role to offer a young person, register the job details here (It is important to have the job description ready when registering a job role as it is not possible to save and return to the form).
CVS Brent will be submitting applications on a monthly basis on behalf of the Voluntary Sector for the Kickstart Scheme. The Deadlines for originations to submit their roles with CVS Brent will be:
- 9th October 2020
- 1st of every month following
